As you probably already know, coffee is made from (ground) coffee beans. But did you also know that there are different types of coffee beans that determine the taste of your coffee?
The best-known distinction made between coffee beans is the distinction between arabica beans and robusta beans.
Arabica beans have a mild flavor and are low in caffeine;
Robusta beans provide a spicy taste and are high in caffeine.
Roodmerk – 70% arabica beans, 30% robusta beans;
Silver mark – 80% arabica beans, 20% robusta beans;
Gold mark – 100% Arabica beans.
1. Orange coffee
Start with a fruity coffee recipe with the choice to combine the coffee with orange and chocolate. This creates a surprising taste that can provide the perfect start to the day.
The essentials for 1 cup of this delicious orange coffee are:
10 grams of sugar;
1/2 orange;
1 tablespoon of orange liqueur;
1 cup of coffee;
Whipped cream;
Chocolate sauce (optional).
The method of preparation of this first special coffee recipe is as follows:
1.Grate the zest of half an orange and set it aside.
2.Then squeeze the half orange and collect the juice in a cup or glass.
3.Grab a tall glass and spread some chocolate sauce at the bottom. Then pour the hot coffee over it.
4.Add the sugar, orange liqueur and the juice of the orange.
5.Now spray a generous dot of whipped cream on the coffee.
6. Garnish the coffee with the grated orange zest from step 1.
Tip: Not a fan of the combination of chocolate with coffee and orange? Then omit the chocolate sauce from step 3. The coffee is just as delicious!
2. Coffee that tastes like gingerbread
The second recipe in this list of specialty coffee recipes is especially great for cold or lonely evenings and mornings. The coffee prepared with gingerbread spices gives you a wonderfully warm, winter feeling. This coffee is therefore the perfect comfort drink.
For 1 cup of coffee with gingerbread spices you will need:
100 milliliters of espresso;
100 milliliters of chocolate milk;
50 milliliters of milk;
1 pinch of gingerbread spices;
Whipped cream;
Sugar;
Long fingers.
The preparation of this coffee with gingerbread spices is as follows:
1.Warm the chocolate milk. It is important that the chocolate milk is hot, but it does not need to boil.
2.Then pour the espresso into a large glass and pour the hot chocolate with it. Also add the gingerbread spices.
3.Stir well.
4.Add sugar if necessary to make it a bit sweeter.
5.Spray whipped cream on top of the coffee until the glass is nicely full.
6. Put a long finger in the coffee for decoration.
Tip: Of course you can also choose to garnish the coffee with pieces of gingerbread. This enhances the taste.
3. Bailey’s Ice Coffee
Alcohol and coffee go well together. One of the liqueurs that can be perfectly combined in special coffee recipes is Baileys. Have a look at the recipe below. Are you already mouth watering?
For 1 glass of Baileys iced coffee you need the following:
200 milliliters of coffee;
60 milliliters of Baileys;
Ice cubes or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Do you have all the ingredients at home? Then this is the preparation you should follow:
1.Make 200 milliliters of coffee.
2.While making the coffee, fill a glass with ice cubes or vanilla ice cream.
3.Then pour the Baileys over the ice.
4.Finally add the coffee and let it cool down. When the coffee has cooled completely (and the ice has melted if necessary), your iced coffee is ready.
4. Cappuccino with chocolate and rum
Chocolate, rum and cappuccino: there is hardly a better combination. This next recipe should therefore not be missing from this list of special coffee recipes.
The ingredients for 1 cappuccino with rum and chocolate are:
100 milliliters of milk;
75 milliliters of espresso;
30 grams of (dark) chocolate;
1 tablespoon of sugar (optional);
1 tablespoon of rum;
Whipped cream (optional).
To make this cappuccino with rum and chocolate:
1.Heat the milk until it becomes fluffy.
2.If necessary, add the sugar to the milk to sweeten it completely.
3.Break the chocolate into pieces and place some at the bottom of the coffee cup.
4.Brew an espresso and pour it into the coffee cup.
5.Now pour the milk over the coffee. Make sure that the foam also ends up in the cup.
6.Garnish the coffee with pieces of shaved chocolate and possibly some whipped cream.
Tip: Are you not fond of cappuccino? Then omit the milk and only add whipped cream. You can stir the sugar into the espresso if necessary, so that the sweet taste is preserved.
5. Cinnamon coffee
Cinnamon is a spice that is mainly used in desserts. But cinnamon also comes into its own in coffee. Curious how? Then take a quick look at the recipe below.
For 1 cup of steaming cinnamon coffee you will need:
1 cup of coffee;
1 tablespoon of cinnamon syrup;
Milk;
Cinnamon sugar;
Cinnamon stick (optional).
You can make a cinnamon coffee in the following way:
1.Make a cup of coffee.
2.Heat the milk and froth it.
3.Put the cinnamon syrup in a coffee mug.
4.Add the coffee and cinnamon sugar to this.
5.Finally add some of the milk and milk foam.
To make the cinnamon taste extra steep in the coffee, you can put a cinnamon stick in the coffee for decoration.
